The neon piece from the ~1 hour collection is rich in symbolism. It represents a desert snake, Arabic letters, or the overhangs of sand dunes, creating a unifying element between the designer’s Arab roots and her life. Its execution also references pioneers of Czech abstraction, such as Zdeněk Pešánek, who in the 1920s were among the first to work with neon in their modernist sculptures. It is a source of light that tells the designer’s powerful story while also offering each of us the opportunity to discover our own story within it.
